FREDERIK OBERMAIER is a German journalist and a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. His work focuses primarily on corruption, tax havens, intelligence agencies, and illegal arms deals.
Together with journalist Bastian Obermayer, he initiated the worldwide Panama Papers revelations in 2016, for which they were awarded the Pulitzer Prize. He was also involved in uncovering the Ibiza affair, which forced then Austrian Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache to resign in less than 24 hours.
Since 2022, Obermaier has been co-managing director of the Munich-based investigative company paper trail media.
