plan A Networks Hamburg

THOMAS TUMA is an expert when it comes to the German economy. He comments on current affairs as head writer and editorial board member at Focus magazine. Previously he was deputy editor-in-chief of Handelsblatt newspaper and, for many years, head of the business and media department at Der Spiegel.

His many accolades include the Helmut Schmidt Journalist Award and the Herbert Quandt Media Award. Numerous heavyweights from business and politics count among his interview partners, such as BioNTech CEO Uğur Şahin and German Housing Minister Klara Geywitz.

Together, we will critically examine Germany as a business location, at construction, and beyond: the Buildings Energy Act (Gebäudeenergiegesetz, GEG), the electricity price brake, e-mobility, etc. How will Germany become climate neutral by 2045? How will politics and business interact on this topic? Who will bear which costs? Will they be shared fairly?

Moderation: Nadin Heinich
