plan A Networks Frankfurt

30 kph throughout Paris, car-free city centres, pop-up bike lanes. The space in our cities is limited. Strategies such as urban densification and transforming transportation to reduce CO2 emissions require new mobility concepts.

CHRISTIAN GÄRTNER is a mobility expert and founder of the design and strategy consultancy Urban Standards. Instead of a narrow debate on car technology, the economist and his team are developing holistic mobility concepts in collaboration with the real estate industry and the public sector – working with Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and numerous cities such as Heidelberg, Lausanne, Boston, Doha, and Shenzhen. Decoupling neighbourhoods from traffic growth without limiting access to individual mobility. Rethinking the relationship between pedestrians, cyclists, public transport, and cars. More green open spaces instead of roads and parking. Can these policies be put into practice – and what are the challenges?

An evening about mobility in our cities of tomorrow. Moderated by Nadin Heinich.
